Management in general consists in directing and controlling manpower and other resources in order to achieve predetermined objectives. In business, management must ensure that resources are managed optimally in order to yield maximum returns. Today business management is a much sought after profession. One reason is that the opportunities in management are numerous. The other reasons are that there is an element of glamour attached to this profession and growth prospects are good. Requisite Qualification

To pursue a career in management one should be a BBA or MBA. To pursue the BBA course an individual should have passed the 10+2 exams with high marks. To pursue the MBA program one has to be a BA, BSc, BE or B Tech at the least.

Management graduates can seek employment in banks, public sector undertakings, corporates, multinationals, and even set themselves in business.

Remuneration

The variation in salaries is mind boggling. While at one end of the spectrum salaries can be as low as Rs. 8000 p.m., at the other end the monthly salary can run into six figures for graduates from one of the premier institutions. MBAs with added professional qualification can expect to draw higher salaries than those without.
