MODELING (Related Courses)

People are far more fashion conscious now than ever before and are prepared to spend a lot of money to make them look better. This applies to both men and women. If that is the story on the demand side, on the supply side there are numerous companies in the fray to satisfy consumer demand for lifestyle products. This means that ad agencies have to compete with each other to showcase manufacturers' products, using newer and better looking models. Modeling was once the domain of women. Now there are as many male models as there are female models. The spurt in the number of new models is because of the glamour and big pay packets attached to modeling. While much of this is true, modeling also involves a great deal of dedication and hard work. It is a relatively short term career because old faces get replaced by newer faces and the competition is quite severe because of the number of entrants. Modeling can be of several types. But primarily they are ramp modeling, television modeling and print modeling. Ramp modeling requires models to display apparel to a live audience many of whom could be potential buyers. Showroom modeling is something similar except that models display apparel to a closed audience of potential buyers. TV modeling involves displaying or demonstrating a product in front of cameras and to be used as TV commercials. Print modeling as the name implies is modeling for the print media where pictures appear as Ads in newspapers and magazines.
